ImagiSOFT discontinued its free web-based RMD calculator on January 1, 2005. Why? Because it may have done more harm than good.
We received numerous support calls from planholders who had received RMD reports printed from our Free RMD Calculator by their financial advisor. These free reports had ImagiSOFT's name and phone number on them as an advertizement for our RMD software. The advisor's name and phone number were not on these reports, so dozens of planholders called us thinking we were the plan administrator. Some of these planholders wanted us to roll their IRA into a different account!
